PGR4-Recomp

What you need: Project Gotham Racing 4 for Xbox 360, dumped from your own disc and extracted to a folder.

PGR4-Recomp is a native port of Project Gotham Racing 4 for Windows and other x86-64 PCs that can run Windows programs, made by static recompilation with the ReXGlue SDK. It also runs on the Steam Deck through Proton.

Version 1.2.1 moved to ReXGlue 0.10 for older CPUs and made music play in races.

The author says it is far from polished: music volume cannot be changed, the Geometry Wars machine in the garage crashes the game, and one car freezes it. The download contains no game data. It needs Project Gotham Racing 4, dumped from your own disc.

How to set it up

1. Download the zip and extract it.
2. Extract the game files from your disc image into a folder (a Games on Demand dump must first be converted to an ISO).
3. Open run.bat in a text editor and set the path to your game folder, keeping quotation marks around it.
4. Run run.bat to start pgr4_recomp.exe. On Steam Deck, run the exe through Proton with the launch options from the project’s setup guide.
