Pinyon Shift
What you need: A disc image of Forza Horizon for Xbox 360, USA retail base disc (serial MS-2505, title ID 4D5309C9), dumped from your own disc.
Pinyon Shift is a playable preview of a native port of the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon for Windows, made by static recompilation with ReXGlue. It is a build kit: the download holds only the launcher and source, and the launcher verifies your disc image, downloads the build tools and a pinned ReXGlue, and compiles the game on your PC. The first build can take 20 to 60 minutes.
The author calls it early, imperfect and surprisingly drivable. It needs Windows 10 or 11 and a Direct3D 12 GPU; a native renderer, other regions, ultrawide support, controller remapping and mods are on the roadmap. Crash reports can be sent from the launcher.
The download contains no game data. It needs Forza Horizon (USA base disc) as a disc image, dumped from your own disc.
How to set it up
- Download
PinyonShift-Launcher.zipand extract the two files to a folder. - Run
PinyonShift.Launcher.exeand select your disc image. - Confirm ownership and choose Verify & Build. The launcher installs the Windows build tools and compiles the game; the first build takes 20 to 60 minutes and needs about 25 GB of free space.
- Keep the launcher open while playing: it catches crashes and prepares a report.
