Case West Recomp
What you need: The Xbox Live Arcade package file of Dead Rising 2: Case West (title ID 58410B00, about 1.2 GB), copied from your own Xbox 360.
Case West Recomp is a native port of Dead Rising 2: Case West for Windows and Linux, made by static recompilation with XenonRecomp and XenosRecomp on a purpose-built engine with a Vulkan renderer, real XMA audio and native keyboard and mouse controls.
The author calls it essentially complete: the single-player game has been played start to finish and checked on NVIDIA and AMD cards on Windows and Linux. Two-player online co-op, as on the Xbox 360, works through the XenonLive launcher. The repository includes a guide for the Claude Code AI assistant.
The download contains no game data. It needs the Dead Rising 2: Case West XBLA package from your own Xbox 360.
How to set it up
- Download the zip for Windows, or the tarball, AppImage or Steam Deck build for Linux, and unpack it.
- Copy your package file (from
Content/0000000000000000/58410B00/000D0000/) into theassets/package/folder, or drag it onto the launcher window. - Run
cw_runtime.exe(./cw_runtimeon Linux). The first run unpacks the package and prepares the shaders. - For online co-op, start the game from the XenonLive launcher; started on its own it is single-player.
