Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Released: 2007
Console: Xbox 360
Developer: Konami

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is an action role-playing game developed and published by Konami, first released on the PlayStation in 1997 and brought to Xbox Live Arcade on the Xbox 360 in 2007. It was produced by Toru Hagihara, with Koji Igarashi as assistant director, and music by Michiru Yamane.

Dracula’s son Alucard wakes to find Castlevania risen again and sets out to explore it. The game joined the open, interconnected castle of Metroid with levelling, equipment and spells, a design that helped define the ‘Metroidvania’ genre, and it hides a second, inverted castle.

A native PC port of the Xbox Live Arcade version, made by static recompilation, runs on Windows and Linux.
