What you need: An ISO of Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (USA) for the Xbox, dumped from your own disc.

DOAXBV Native PC Port is a native Windows port of Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. The original Xbox executable is lifted to C with a static recompiler and linked against a hand-written runtime that replaces the Xbox kernel, audio, Direct3D 8 and DirectSound calls with native Windows code. The long-term aim is to rewrite the generated code as readable source.

The download is a build kit rather than a ready-made game: it bundles Python, Git, CMake and an ISO extractor, and its setup extracts your disc and compiles the game locally, downloading Microsoft’s C++ build tools if they are missing. The author calls it fully playable since version 0.4, with every stage, the casino, hotel and shops, saving and a full holiday working, while lighting and full rendering fidelity are incomplete. Recent versions added PlayStation controller support and custom soundtracks. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it.

The download contains no game data. It needs Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (USA), dumped from your own disc. The first run builds the game from your disc and can take several minutes.

How to set it up

  1. Download the zip and extract it into a new folder with a short path.
  2. Drag your ISO onto BuildGame.cmd. If the Microsoft C++ build tools or Windows SDK are missing, accept the offer to install them (this needs administrator approval and several GB).
  3. Wait for Setup complete. The first run extracts your disc and compiles the game, which takes a while.
  4. Open Launcher.cmd to choose resolution, MSAA and SMAA and press Play, or run RunGame.cmd to use the defaults.
