Wargus lets players play Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, Blizzard’s 1995 real-time strategy game, on the open-source Stratagus engine. On first start it extracts the original game’s data from the player’s CD or install, so the game looks and sounds exactly like Warcraft II.
The gameplay is very close to the original, with a few enhancements in the style of StarCraft, and it adds higher resolutions and multiplayer on today’s systems.
How to Set It Up
- Download the Windows installer or the portable build.
- On first start, Wargus asks for your Warcraft II CD or install and extracts the graphics, sounds and maps from it.
- Start the game and play the campaigns, skirmishes or multiplayer.
