What you need: Ultima VII: The Black Gate and/or Ultima VII Part Two: Serpent Isle, from the original disks or GOG. The Forge of Virtue and Silver Seed add-ons are optional.

Exult is an open-source engine for Ultima VII, Origin Systems' 1992 role-playing game, whose DOS version used a nonstandard memory manager that makes it hard to run on modern computers. Exult reads the data and graphics files that come with the game and runs them natively.

It plays all of Ultima VII: The Black Gate and Ultima VII Part Two: Serpent Isle, both of which can be finished, along with the Forge of Virtue and Silver Seed add-ons. It adds higher resolutions, many fixes and conveniences, and Exult Studio, an editor for making new content and mods.

The builds offered here are the project's snapshot builds, made from its latest code.

## How to set it up

1. Download the Windows installer or the Android APK. The builds here are Exult's development snapshots.
2. Install Exult and point it at the folders of your Black Gate and/or Serpent Isle installs during setup (or in `exult.cfg`).
3. Start Exult and pick the game from its menu.
