About the Game

Tomb Raider was developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive in 1996 for the Sega Saturn, PlayStation and MS-DOS. It introduced Lara Croft, an archaeologist hired to recover the pieces of the Scion, an artefact of Atlantis, in Peru, Greece, Egypt and the lost city itself.

It combined 3D exploration, puzzles, platforming and gunfights in levels built on a grid of blocks, and became one of the defining games of the 1990s. An expansion, Unfinished Business, followed for PC.
