What you need: The data of Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor (at least its ANIMS, DATA, MUSIC and SOUNDS folders), from GOG or an original disc. On Linux and macOS, innoextract unpacks the GOG installer.

Overview

WidescreenBug Fixes

OpenEnroth is an open-source reimplementation of the engine that New World Computing used for Might and Magic VI, VII and VIII, letting the original games run on modern Windows, macOS, Linux and Android with their own data files.

For now only Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor is playable; support for VI and VIII is planned. Only nightly builds are available while work on the first stable release continues, so bugs are to be expected.

How to Set It Up

  1. Download the nightly build for your system and unpack it.
  2. Install Might and Magic VII, or extract the GOG installer with innoextract, and copy its ANIMS, DATA, MUSIC and SOUNDS folders next to OpenEnroth (or point OpenEnroth at the game folder).
  3. Run OpenEnroth. Nightly builds can have bugs, so keep backups of your saves.
