Jazz² Resurrection is a reimplementation of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, the 1998 platformer by Epic MegaGames and Orange Games, completely rewritten in C++ by Dan R. It plays the original’s episodes with the player’s own files and supports the Shareware Demo, Holiday Hare ‘98, The Secret Files and Christmas Chronicles, as well as some features of the JJ2+ extension and custom levels made with MLLE.

It runs smoothly at modern resolutions, adds controller support, reworked physics and online multiplayer, and is available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, with versions for the Switch, PlayStation Vita, 3DS and other systems.

How to Set It Up

  1. Download the build for your system and unzip it into a folder you can write to (not Program Files). On Windows, install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable if it isn’t already.
  2. Copy the contents of your Jazz Jackrabbit 2 folder into the Source folder inside it.
  3. Run Jazz2. The first start builds a cache during the intro, so the intro can’t be skipped that time.
