Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia was developed by New World Computing and published by The 3DO Company for Windows in 1999. Armageddon's Blade and The Shadow of Death expansions followed, later collected in the Complete edition.

Players explore an adventure map with heroes, take towns of eight factions, build up their armies and fight turn-based battles. It added underground levels, new town types and a deeper skill system to the series, and it is still played widely online, with community expansions such as Horn of the Abyss.
