Librelancer is an open-source reimplementation of Freelancer, Digital Anvil's 2003 space trading and combat game, written in C#. It reads the original game's data from the player's install and runs it on modern Windows and Linux.

Besides the game itself, it includes a multiplayer server and tools for modding Freelancer's data. The project moved its code from GitHub to Codeberg in October 2026.

## How to set it up

1. Download the Windows zip or the Linux archive and unpack it. The Linux build is made on Ubuntu 24.04; older systems may need to build from source.
2. Start the Librelancer launcher and pick your Freelancer install folder.
3. Launch the game from the launcher.
