Caesar III was developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra On-Line for Windows in 1998. It is the third game of the Caesar series and the start of the studio's City Building Series.

Players plan Roman cities, supplying housing with water, food, religion, entertainment and education so it can grow, while running farms, industry and trade and defending against invaders. A career mode leads from small provincial towns to the rank of Caesar.
