What you need: Alone in the Dark (1992) from Steam, GOG or the original CD. Windows 64-bit; the latest builds are for Windows only.

Alone in the Dark Re-Haunted is a reimplementation of the engine of Alone in the Dark, Infogrames' 1992 survival horror game, written in C++ with bgfx for graphics, SoLoud for audio and SDL3 for input, and released under the GPL. It is a fork of the FITD engine and needs the data of the player's own copy of the game.

The first Alone in the Dark can be played from start to finish, and support for the rest of the series is in progress. It adds a proper full-screen mode, controller support, an optional HD remaster mode with post-processing effects, in-game maps and interactive hints.

Its downloads are not mirrored here: get them from the project's GitHub releases page.

## How to set it up

1. Download the Windows zip from the project's GitHub releases page and unzip it.
2. Run it: Re-Haunted looks for Alone in the Dark installed from Steam, GOG or a CD in the drive, copies the game files over and also installs itself into a Steam or GOG copy so it starts from there.
3. Switch between the original graphics and the HD remaster mode with the Detail Low/High option.
