About the Game

Alone in the Dark was developed and published by Infogrames for MS-DOS in 1992. The player is Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood, trapped in the Louisiana mansion of Derceto and threatened by creatures inspired by H. P. Lovecraft.

It was one of the first games to show 3D characters over fixed, pre-drawn backgrounds, and it set the pattern for survival horror. Two sequels followed in 1993 and 1994.
