Arena is the first Elder Scrolls game. You start in the Imperial dungeons and gather the eight pieces of the Staff of Chaos across the whole continent of Tamriel, with a huge open world, cities and randomly made dungeons to explore in first person.

Bethesda released it as freeware in 2004 for the series' tenth anniversary.

## How to set it up

1. Install [DOSBox Staging](/microsoft/ms-dos/emulator/dosboxstaging/) or another DOS emulator.
2. Unzip the download into a folder of its own.
3. Start DOSBox Staging and type `mount c "<folder>\ARENA"`, where `<folder>` is where you unzipped the download, then `c:`.
