Snipes is a text-mode maze shooter. You hunt down the snipes and destroy the hives that keep producing them, in a large maze that scrolls around you, while the snipes shoot back.

SuperSet Software wrote it in 1982 to test early PC networks, and its networked version is one of the first multiplayer PC games. This is the single-player version.

## How to set it up

1. Install [DOSBox Staging](/microsoft/ms-dos/emulator/dosboxstaging/) or another DOS emulator.
2. Unzip the download into a folder of its own.
3. Start DOSBox Staging and type `mount c "<folder>\snipes"`, where `<folder>` is where you unzipped the download, then `c:`.
4. Type `SNIPES.EXE` to start the game.
