Risk is the computer version of the board game of world conquest. Up to six players, human or computer, place armies across 42 territories, attack with dice rolls and trade cards for reinforcements until one player rules the world.

This is Computer Risk from Virgin Publishing, made in 1989 under licence from Parker Brothers. It asks for your graphics card and input device when it starts, and comes with a keyboard driver for playing without a mouse.

How to set it up

  1. Install DOSBox Staging or another DOS emulator.
  2. Unzip the download into a folder of its own.
  3. Start DOSBox Staging and type mount c "<folder>\Risk", where <folder> is where you unzipped the download, then c:.
  4. Type RISK.EXE to start the game.
