NetHack is one of the classic roguelikes. Pick a class and race, descend through randomly made dungeon levels drawn in text characters, and retrieve the Amulet of Yendor. It is famous for how many ways its objects and monsters can interact.

## How to set it up

1. Install [DOSBox Staging](/microsoft/ms-dos/emulator/dosboxstaging/) or another DOS emulator.
2. Unzip the download into a folder of its own.
3. Start DOSBox Staging and type `mount c "<folder>\nethack"`, where `<folder>` is where you unzipped the download, then `c:`.
4. Type `NETHACK.EXE` to start the game.
