California Games

California Games swaps Epyx’s Olympic events for the beach. You enter surfing, skateboarding on a half-pipe, roller skating along the boardwalk, BMX, footbag and flying disc, each with its own controls and scoring.

It came out in 1987 and was one of the biggest sports games of its day. The PC version lets you choose the graphics mode when it starts.

How to set it up

1. Install DOSBox Staging or another DOS emulator.
2. Unzip the download into a folder of its own.
3. Start DOSBox Staging and type mount c "<folder>\california_games_dos", where <folder> is where you unzipped the download, then c:.
4. Type CALGAMES.EXE to start the game.
