Assault Trooper is an overhead action game in which a lone soldier fights through jungle bases, rivers and villages. You pick up heavier weapons as you go, and the game comes with an editor for making your own maps.

Juha Kauppinen released it as shareware. The free version had two of the ten areas, and this download is the registered version with all ten.

## How to set it up

1. Install [DOSBox Staging](/microsoft/ms-dos/emulator/dosboxstaging/) or another DOS emulator.
2. Unzip the download into a folder of its own.
3. Start DOSBox Staging and type `mount c "<folder>\assault_reg"`, where `<folder>` is where you unzipped the download, then `c:`.
4. Type `ASSAULT.EXE` to start the game.
