## Copyright notices
If you believe material on Emulation King infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to **dmca@emulationking.com**. When a complete notice arrives, the material it identifies is taken down promptly while the notice is reviewed.

Before you send a notice, consider whether the use is a [fair use](https://www.copyright.gov/fair-use/). Most emulators are original software written from scratch and don't contain copyrighted code from the systems they emulate. If you aren't sure whether something infringes your copyright, seek legal advice first.

**You are required to consider fair use before sending a notice, following [Lenz v. Universal](https://www.eff.org/press/releases/important-win-fair-use-dancing-baby-lawsuit). We reserve the right to challenge abuses of the DMCA process.**

## What a notice must include

- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act for them.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
- The exact address of each page or file on this site you say infringes, so it can be found. A link to the specific page is needed, not just the name of an emulator or game.
- Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the way complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

A notice that is missing any of these may not be acted on.

## Counter-notices
If something you made was taken down and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include your signature, the address the material was at before it was removed, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and telephone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court and to accept service from the person who sent the original notice. The material may be restored 10 to 14 business days later unless that person tells us they have started court action.
