Denise

Denise is a cycle-accurate emulator for the Commodore 64 and the Amiga 500, 600 and 1000, developed by PiCiJi. It began as a C64 emulator, and Amiga emulation was added in version 2.0.

It focuses on accuracy and on a modern presentation. Features include shader support with CRT style presets, run-ahead to reduce input latency, fast forward, and debuggers and disassemblers for both systems. On the C64 it supports the SuperCPU, many cartridges, reSID and libresidfp, and real SID chips through USBSID-Pico.

Denise is actively developed: version 2.9 was released on 28 August 2026, and nightly builds are also available. There are official builds for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit), macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Linux (Ubuntu package and Flatpak), and it also runs on BSD. It is open source under the GNU GPL version 3.
