Holani

Holani is a cycle-stepped Atari Lynx emulator written in Rust by LLeny. Its 65C02 emulation was initially based on the design of the 6502 in the chips project, and it is released under the GNU GPL version 3.

Holani itself is a library, used by several frontends: a GTK4 desktop application, a command line player, a debugger and a libretro core for RetroArch. It includes a free Lynx boot ROM, so no BIOS file is needed to play games.

The emulator is actively developed and reached version 1.0 in 2026. The GTK4 frontend has official builds for Windows, Linux and macOS on Apple Silicon.
