Kat5200 is an open source emulator for the Atari 5200 and Atari's 8-bit computers (800/XL/XE). It does not emulate the BIOS itself, so it needs the original Atari 5200 BIOS files to run games.

Kat5200 offered advanced features, NTSC and PAL support, a graphical interface and good compatibility. It was a promising emulator until development ended in 2009.

Its last few versions focused on improving compatibility, and version 0.6.0 added support for the Atari 8-bit computers and for PAL.
