Supermodel is an emulator for SEGA’s Model 3 arcade board. It was started by Bart Trzynadlowski in 2003, and is now developed by a small team that includes Nik Henson, Ian Curtis and others. Because there is no public documentation for Model 3, all of its hardware had to be reverse engineered.

It runs almost every Model 3 game, including Virtua Fighter 3, Scud Race, SEGA Rally 2, Daytona USA 2, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, Harley-Davidson & L.A. Riders and Fighting Vipers 2, most of them at full speed. It uses OpenGL and SDL2, supports force feedback, widescreen hacks and network play for linked cabinets, and is configured from the command line or an ini file.

Supermodel is actively developed. Builds for Windows, Linux and macOS are published automatically on GitHub after each change, with a version number made from the build date and commit. It is free and open source software under the GNU GPL version 3.
