AppleWin is an Apple II emulator for Windows. It was first written by Michael O’Brien in 1994 and has been developed by many people since, with Tom Charlesworth as the long-time maintainer. It is open source under the GNU GPL version 2.

It emulates the Apple II, Apple II Plus, Apple IIe and Enhanced Apple IIe, along with clones such as the Pravets 82/8M/8A, TK3000 //e and Base 64A. It supports a long list of expansion hardware, including Disk II and hard disk controllers, Mockingboard and Phasor sound cards, the Z80 SoftCard for CP/M, Uthernet network cards and the Apple Super Serial Card. It also has a built-in debugger that is popular with Apple II developers.

AppleWin is actively developed. The latest stable release is version 1.32.0.0 from May 2026, with beta builds released in between. Official builds are for Windows only; a separate port for Linux and other systems exists as its own project.
