Apple

Apple was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. The Apple II, released in 1977, was one of the first successful mass-produced home computers and stayed on sale until 1993. The Macintosh followed in 1984 and brought the graphical user interface to a mass market.

Apple has changed processor architecture several times, from the Motorola 68000 to PowerPC, Intel and now its own Apple Silicon chips, and each change left software behind. Emulators keep that software running, from Apple II games to classic Mac OS and the first generations of iPhone games.
